SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA--(Korea Newswire)--On October 19, 2024, the Ga-Eul Debate Get-Together 2024, one of South Korea’s premier offline debate competitions, successfully gathered over 50 passionate young debaters at Dulwich College Seoul. Organized by the student-led Debate Get-Together, this unique event offers rare face-to-face debating opportunities in the post-pandemic era, standing out among a sea of online tournaments.
This year’s tournament adopted the Modified Canadian Nationals format, drawing 24 teams from across the nation to compete in critical thinking and public speaking. “Creating a welcoming, professional space for beginners remains our top priority,” Kim adds. The tournament was praised for its inclusivity and the chance it gave new debaters to compete in person.
As one of the few offline tournaments left in South Korea, Ga-Eul Debate continues to be a beacon for young students seeking real-world debating experiences. The next event is scheduled for early 2025, following the success of the October 2024 tournament held at Dulwich College Seoul.
